How to configure recurring discounts with EchoRewards

EchoRewards now offers recurring coupons for your subscription-based business.

Navigate to WordPress Dashboard > EchoRewards > Referral Settings.

Once you’re there, look for the Referral coupon type option.

Types and Prequisites #

There are a total of 6 types of discounts you can set in EchoRewards. You can use the following plugins without any issue:
1. Percentage
2. Fixed

Prerequisite: If you want to use the 4 other types of discount, you need to have the WooCommerce Subscription plugin. They are:
1. Sign Up Fee Discount
2. Sign Up Fee % Discount
3. Recurring Product Discount
4. Recurring Product % Discount

1. Sign Up Fee Discount #

This feature allows you to offer a fixed-amount discount on the initial sign-up fee for subscription-based products.

How It Works:
1. You set a specific discount amount (e.g., $5 off the sign-up fee).
2. The discount is applied at checkout when a customer purchases a subscription using an EchoRewards coupon .

2. Sign Up Fee % Discount #

This feature allows you to offer a percentage-based discount on the sign-up fee.

How It Works:

  1. You set a discount percentage (e.g., 10% off).
  2. The discount is calculated dynamically based on the original sign-up fee when an EchoRewards coupon is used at checkout.

3. Recurring Product Discount #

This feature allows you to offer a fixed-amount discount on every recurring payment for a subscription product. Unlike a one-time sign-up discount, this applies to all future renewal payments, incentivizing long-term customer retention.

How It Works:
1. You define a fixed discount (e.g., $10 off every renewal).
2. The discount applies to all future recurring payments.

Limiting Coupon Usage:
You can enable “Limit the coupon usage for subscription payments” and specify the number of recurring payments (e.g., 5).

The discount will apply only to the first 5 renewals, then revert to the original price.

4. Recurring Product % Discount #

This feature allows you to offer a percentage-based discount on every recurring payment for a subscription product. It’s ideal for long-term promotions, encouraging customer loyalty by reducing renewal costs proportionally.

How It Works:
1. The discount applies to all future recurring payments.
2. You define a fixed percentage discount (e.g., 10% off every renewal).
